This Privacy Policy explains how Maxwell Explorations, Inc. doing business as MaxwellX by Maxwell Explorations (“MaxwellX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit the MaxwellX website, interact with public models, submit forms, apply to collaborate, contact us, or otherwise interact with us online.

This Policy applies to the MaxwellX website and online services that link to this Policy.

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites, scientific publishers, universities, hosting providers, payment providers, email services, social platforms, analytics platforms, or other third parties that have their own privacy policies.

Depending on how you interact with MaxwellX, we may collect:

Contact information

Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, organization, role, location, time zone, and communication preferences.

Inquiry and message information

Messages you send, questions, research interests, collaboration requests, support requests, accessibility requests, and related correspondence.

Applicant and collaborator information

Resume/CV, education, employment history, skills, publications, patents, invention work, prototypes, GitHub/code links, portfolio links, project links, technical materials, availability, collaboration track, and responses to application questions.

Project and idea information

Research questions, proposals, project summaries, source lists, experiment plans, diagrams, technical materials, and non-confidential descriptions of work you choose to submit.

Website usage information

IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring pages, timestamps, approximate location derived from IP address, and interaction data.

Cookie and similar technology information

Cookie identifiers, local storage values, consent preferences, analytics events, and related technical data, depending on enabled tools and your choices.

Security and diagnostic information

Server logs, error logs, fraud-prevention signals, spam-prevention data, and security-event information.

Sensitive information

How MaxwellX uses cookies today:

• MaxwellX uses essential cookies and security technologies needed to operate the Site;
• MaxwellX uses Google Analytics 4 to measure Site usage; in jurisdictions requiring consent (EEA, UK, Switzerland), analytics cookies are disabled by default until consent is given;
• MaxwellX does not use marketing or advertising cookies; if that ever changes, it will obtain consent where required and provide a cookie banner and preferences center before those cookies are set.

8. Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.

9. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure. Do not submit sensitive, confidential, trade-secret, or patent-sensitive information through public forms unless MaxwellX has provided a protected intake path.

If you receive marketing emails, you can unsubscribe through the email or by contacting us. Transactional, administrative, legal, and security messages may continue.

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. See the Children’s Privacy Notice.

MaxwellX may process information in the United States and other countries. If you are outside the United States, your information may be transferred to countries with different privacy laws.
