Build what has no category yet.

MaxwellX is building a company for rare technical people: experimentalists, physicists, engineers, modelers, inventors, and systems thinkers who can turn frontier questions into instruments, data, and working systems.

The work begins with FieldLab — active experiments in energy transfer, geometry, electromagnetic fields, light, lasers, materials, and measurement. This is a place for people who can see across fields and still hold the details.

  1. 01Design the experiment.
  2. 02Build the apparatus.
  3. 03Read the signal.
  4. 04Protect the invention.
  5. 05Open the path.

MaxwellX gives serious builders the environment to research, model, test, protect, publish, and scale frontier work.

The standard

We are looking for people who change the work.

MaxwellX is selective by design. The company is being built around people whose judgment, skill, and originality raise the ceiling of the entire system. A strong collaborator brings more than interest — they bring depth, pattern recognition, technical courage, and the ability to move from idea to instrument.

MaxwellX uses advanced AI and modeling tools aggressively. That means the human bar is higher. We are looking for people who can do what tools cannot: choose the right question, design the decisive test, notice the anomaly, build the missing apparatus, protect the invention, and know when a result matters.

Who belongs here

Principal builders. Deep specialists. Original thinkers.

MaxwellX is built for people who can own hard problems. Some will join as founding team members, some will lead a research path, some will advise at a high level, and some will bring a device, model, paper trail, prototype, patent idea, or field insight that deserves serious development. The common trait is technical force.

Field experimentalists

Field experimentalists

Design and run instrumented experiments across electromagnetic fields, optical systems, lasers, materials, energy transfer, heat, motion, and measurement. You design the measurement standard — input, output, storage, loss, heat, uncertainty — and recognize when a result is real.

EM / RF / optics

EM, RF & optical systems architects

You understand fields as physical systems: coils, cavities, antennas, resonators, near-fields, impedance, coupling, and field mapping. Work across light, lasers, optical materials, photothermal response, beam shaping, structured surfaces, detection, and light-driven motion.

Materials

Materials & interface scientists

The interface is often where the system lives. Metals, dielectrics, semiconductors, graphene, coatings, films, plasmonics, photothermal and phase-change materials — connect material choice to field response and measurable signatures.

Micro/nano & transducers

Micro/nano & transducer engineers

Move from geometry to fabricated structure: nanofabrication, MEMS/NEMS, AFM, KPFM, surface metrology, and nanoscale force measurement. Turn tiny force, motion, capacitance, thermal, optical, or electrical changes into readable systems.

Computation

Computational physics architects

Build the model-to-measurement loop: electromagnetics, optics, thermal models, resonance, MEMS/NEMS, field geometry, boundary effects, energy accounting, and surrogate modeling. AI accelerates the workflow; you know what the model means.

IP & capital

IP, capital & institutional partners

Serious experience protecting and scaling frontier work: patent strategy, invention capture, prior-art review, licensing, and venture formation. Open doors without weakening the work — strategic capital, grants, facilities, universities, and high-trust technical networks.

What MaxwellX provides

A serious platform for frontier work.

MaxwellX is building the infrastructure that rare builders need: models, instruments, source trails, IP support, publication paths, funding paths, and a serious environment for developing difficult ideas. Approved collaborators may receive access based on project fit, confidentiality, safety, contribution level, and stage of work.

FieldLab access

MaxwellX’s active experimental environment — geometry, fields, light, and matter, with energy transfer, measurement, and signature mapping. Where ideas become instrumented systems.

Frontier model access

Advanced AI and modeling tools for literature search, code, data analysis, simulation planning, model comparison, technical drafting, hypothesis mapping, and experiment design. AI is leverage; human judgment sets direction.

Instrumentation support

We help define what to measure, what signal matters, what instruments are needed, what controls belong in the run, and what result would move the project forward.

IP support

Invention capture, dated records, prior-art review, patent-readiness review, filing preparation, and coordination with qualified IP counsel. Promising work moves through a protected path before public disclosure.

Publication platform

Approved work published through the MaxwellX site: research notes, source-linked explainers, interactive models, technical diagrams, and public project pages. A place where frontier physics becomes inspectable.

Technical review

Review from specialists, advisors, and domain experts, focused on assumptions, equations, instruments, data, interpretation, safety, IP, and next steps.

Funding & commercialization

Shape strong work into proposals, sponsor materials, investor decks, licensing paths, partnerships, product paths, spinouts, and venture opportunities.

Collaboration agreements

Clear structures for contribution, confidentiality, authorship, project ownership, IP participation, publication, and commercialization. Clear agreements let ambitious people build together.

Collaboration tracks

Many ways to contribute. High bar everywhere.

MaxwellX is forming around active FieldLab work, modeling, measurement, IP, and systems design. Early collaborators may begin as founding team candidates, project leads, advisors, contractors, research partners, or institutional collaborators. The path depends on the work and the person.

Move across physics, engineering, biology, computation, materials, and exploration.

Depth

The patience to understand what a field already knows.

Original judgment

The ability to choose the question that matters.

Build instinct

Turn thought into instruments, models, data, and systems.

Measurement sense

Ask what signature should appear, how to measure it, and what could be fooling the instrument.

Ownership

Document work, protect inventions, and move projects forward.

Technical taste

Recognize when an idea is beautiful, when a model is useful, and when a result deserves more work.

Velocity

Move quickly without becoming careless.

Gentle expertise

Dr. John Harvey Karam showed that deep knowledge and humility belong together. MaxwellX looks for people who can raise the level of the work without making the room smaller.

No shame in not knowing

Frontier work requires honest learning. MaxwellX values people who can ask difficult questions, admit uncertainty, and keep moving toward measurement.

Work that helps

The company’s ambition is technical. Its purpose is human.

Big ideas welcome

Bring the question that keeps returning.

Some ideas arrive before there is a lab for them. MaxwellX exists to build that lab. If you are working on a question that cuts across geometry, fields, light, materials, energy transfer, biology, motion, micro/nano systems, or exploration, MaxwellX wants to hear it. The strongest ideas will be mapped, modeled, tested, protected, and, when ready, published.
