Bio
Christopher Hill founded MaxwellX to give frontier physics a place to become instruments, experiments, and systems.
His work begins with a pattern: geometry changes how energy moves. MaxwellX follows that pattern across electromagnetic fields, light, lasers, materials, boundaries, biology, and exploration — then turns the strongest questions into systems that can be modeled, built, measured, and refined.
FieldLab is active now. MaxwellX is running energy-transfer experiments across geometry, fields, light, materials, and measurement. The work is built around signatures that can be seen, recorded, and compared: force, voltage, current, heat, optical response, field shape, coupling, and motion.
Christopher’s role is to set direction, connect patterns, recruit the team, and move the work from insight to instrument.
The long horizon is larger than any single platform: field systems, micro/nano devices, autonomous systems, and exploration beyond conventional limits.
MaxwellX is being built for people who can turn strange physics into working systems.

A role model for the work.
Christopher Hill names his uncle, Dr. John Harvey Karam, as one of the deepest influences behind MaxwellX.
Dr. Karam was a UCSF physician-scientist, educator, and humanitarian whose life joined medical truth with human dignity. He treated knowledge as something to share, not something to use above others. His students remembered a “no shame in not knowing” environment. His colleagues turned to him for final guidance. His patients and underserved communities received care without arrogance.
That standard lives inside MaxwellX. The company is ambitious because the work is large. It is humble because nature is larger. It is selective because the mission is difficult. It is human because the work is meant to help.
