MaxwellX studies systems where shape changes the behavior of energy. Four words hold the work together: geometry, fields, boundaries, and interfaces.

Geometry

Geometry is the arrangement of matter in space.

In MaxwellX, geometry includes coils, plates, cavities, pillars, arrays, trenches, films, apertures, fibers, cells, materials, and the empty spaces between them.

Fields

Fields carry influence through space and matter.

MaxwellX works with electric, magnetic, optical, induced, near-field, and boundary-field behavior. The company studies how field shape changes when source geometry or material geometry changes.

Boundaries

Boundaries define what a system can exchange.

The Casimir effect is a boundary effect. Metasurfaces are boundary systems. Cells have membranes. Materials have interfaces. Cavities select modes. Boundaries decide what can pass, reflect, concentrate, convert, or decay.

Interfaces

Interfaces are where energy becomes response.

A laser hits a surface. A field enters a medium. A microstructure meets a fluid. A membrane holds a voltage. A force changes a resonator. The interface is where the measurable signature appears.
