MaxwellX is committed to making the MaxwellX website accessible and usable for people with disabilities.

Our standard

MaxwellX targets conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA where reasonably achievable for public website content, including core pages, forms, navigation, legal pages, and public research content.

Interactive models, canvases, simulations, graphs, and experimental visualizations may require additional accessibility work. MaxwellX will provide text summaries, keyboard-accessible controls where feasible, reduced-motion options, captions or descriptions, and alternative explanations for complex visuals.

What we are working on

MaxwellX will work to improve:

• keyboard navigation;
• focus indicators;
• heading structure;
• color contrast;
• screen-reader labels;
• image alt text;
• form labels and error messages;
• mobile responsiveness;
• reduced-motion behavior;
• text alternatives for interactive models;
• accessible legal and policy pages.

Known limitations

Some interactive scientific models may rely on visual field maps, charts, sliders, or animations. MaxwellX will provide text-based explanations of the model, equation, assumptions, current stage, and output where the full interaction cannot be made equally accessible.

Response goal

MaxwellX aims to acknowledge accessibility reports within 10 business days and to provide a status update or remediation plan within a reasonable time.

No retaliation

MaxwellX welcomes good-faith accessibility feedback and will not retaliate against people who report accessibility barriers.
