Quantum Boundary Systems
A boundary can move without a mirror moving.
The dynamic Casimir effect appears when a boundary condition changes fast enough to generate photons from vacuum fluctuations. In superconducting circuits, researchers can create an effective moving boundary using SQUID-based systems.
Why MaxwellX studies it
Dynamic Casimir systems show that boundaries can be time-dependent devices. They belong in the MaxwellX atlas as quantum-boundary physics, separate from ordinary field shaping.
